Wisdom on an envelope that was received in the mail earlier today from a long-time S2 customer. Never doubt the impact you have on a person/people. Never underestimate how a letter can brighten up a day.

This card is new and a favorite and finally available in both the S2 website and Etsy shops. Art was made by me for a completely different project, but not used. When I was reminded of Claude Monet's quote about flowers, this card was designed within an hour and a mockup printed within a day. I love when a project comes together so easily! Although, if I'm honest, the original project the art was created for was not as easy, but many times that is how things happen - something fails for something else to come instead. I wish I could properly express what this past weekend was for the Sara who loves paper and took a 10+ break from her favorite medium. The Universe knew exactly what it was doing when I received a message from Center for Book Arts about an upcoming Korean paper making course in July 2026. Not only was I awash in nostalgia from my time learning paper making in Japan, I was in my element of both learning and knowing about a traditional craft that shares so much about a culture and people.

These photos don't even tell a full story of the two-day workshop. Or the fact that my teacher Myong Jin 진명이 was once a coworker/manager of mine when I was an intern at the NY Center for Book Arts 12 years ago! It also doesn't tell the story of how, she, myself, and our other coworker/manager Sarah Nicholls were all together again for the first time in 12 years not as employees, but teachers and students. It doesn't tell the story of how wonderful it felt to be at the place of my origin story, NYC, after almost two years away. I was home, learning about paper, a medium that feels like home, with other artists in community around art and expression.

I can wax poetic about his for hours, but I'll let the photos tell what I can't. After a whirlwind three days, I am back in PA, where I currently reside, and I'm dreaming of all the ways paper is leading me home again.

This order has been in the works for longer than I'm comfortable saying. I remember getting the notification while on my road trip out to LA with my little brother, just before 2025 came to a close. My thoughts, much like now, were about freedom and wanting change and really wanting what I've spent the last 17 years working on, but only on the sidelines.

The person this order went out to is not just a long-time, dear friend. She is someone who I designed her entire wedding invitation suite for between 2012 and 2013 - a process that begun while I was studying paper making in Japan. She has supported me and my creativity for so long, I can't even express how much it has meant.

It is friends like her who keep me going. It is also people like her who truly show love and kindness that help make the world a better place. ❤️

I said a short video, but it kind of long. Either way, popped on talk about women, feminism, standing together, and the cards that honor women in the collection available for sale. More than a sales pitch, I want us to honor women as individuals with rights everyday and not just as moms, wives, etc, when a month or holiday calls for it.
