Today was the first day our goats went outside this spring. The area around the barn door is still very wet, which is not good for the goats. So we will have to make some kind of path for them to walk on. The grass is very short, but the goats like to nibble on it, and run around. And the dogs are busy watching them.

We have been very impatient with our goats not having their babies, but this last week the mothers have kicked into high gear. 8 nannies gave birth in the last 6 days, starting with 3 last Tuesday. We now have 17 kids. Here are some of their pictures.

Well, no sooner than I posted about our first baby, we had twins born!! Both baby girls, and most importantly, both healthy!! So, maybe we have the ball rolling for more mama's to give birth!!!

Anyone think of 2 good doeling names? Help us out, please!

Finally!!! We have 1 baby!!! And she's a girl!! We named her Hope, because we're hoping for lots more. Healthy and adorable! Just can't seem to get the other ladies interested in having their babies! Though, they look like they are ready to pop!!!

With this beautiful weather we've been having, I'm hoping the ladies will get in the mood to become mothers!!! Will keep you posted!

In the meantime, we're counting our blessings that we are coming out of winter, instead heading into it!!

Sooo, still waiting on babies!!! I'm beginning these mama's to be are never gonna release these babies! Or worse yet, they're all gonna come on the same day. Wouldn't that be fun?!?!?

Anyhow, I went to Escanaba Wednesday to spend the day with one of my "kids" That was a fun time!!!

Since there was a TSC store right there, I had several things I needed to pick up. (cat and dog food, chew sticks for the dogs). Then I saw this sign!!! Knew I had to get it! Can't wait until spring to put it up outside!!! Isn't he adorable?

So, since no babies yet, I wanted to share this picture with you.

These ladies are making us wait and wait and wait. In this picture, they're more concerned about eating, than having their babies!!

So, will continue to wait. (my guess is they will kid at the most inconvenient time for us!!!)

We will keep you posted, can't be toooooo long now! Be thinking of some good names you might want to give us to name the babies.

Good afternoon, friends!!! Yesterday was such a beautiful, sunny day!! Now, today we are back to Feb reality! But, spring is a coming!!
It's been a while since I've posted anything on our page, and I'm sorry. Life just sometimes gets in the way! Anyhow, I am going to really try and do a better job of posting on here. Want to keep everyone up to date on the happenings at Wendmill Goat Farm.

It won't be long until we start having kids! One of our does miscarried recently, so hopefully that was a one time event.

We will be sure to post pictures when we have babies (who doesn't love a cute little baby goat?!?!) Maybe some of you will help us name the them!

Guess that's all for now! Talk to you next week, and hopefully we will have some kids to show you!!

Always something happening here at Wendmill Goats!!! Had a doe who stayed in the barn today, while the others went out, and she blessed us with 2 doelings!!! A total surprise!! The mama, her name is #3, is doing a great job with them!!! I haven't said anything to Wendell yet, but since it's our niece's birthday, we will name one of these girls Rose, and the other Delight, after our niece!!

We've never had kids in the fall, but note the big droopy ears. The daddy must be Bob, the Boer billy we sold this fall. Boers are not seasonal breeders.
