Our Story
Dallas Area local source for Piedmontese Beef and Southdown Sheep. We are committed to bringing healthy, sustainable, local food sources - we love and care for our animals, treating them with great dignity and respect. There are so few Piedmontese cattle in North America that we strongly promote quality breeding and sales of seed stock Piedmontese Cattle. We currently raise full blood Piedmontese and cross our full blood Piedmontese Bulls with our herd of registered full blood Shorthorns and full blood Beefmaster cows. Piedmontese cattle are one of a kind in the cattle world and genetically confirmed as the only breed in the world having the myostatin C313Y variant which makes them so spectacular with more lean muscle, less fat and lower cholesterol - naturally that way. There is not much more we could do to make them better than they are! We are often asked what we do to make our beef taste so good - our answer is simple and easy - ITβS THE BEEF. Piedmontese are consistently healthy, flavorful and tender!
Southdown sheep are a magnificent breed - they have a very special place here at Rockin SJS Farms as our daughters use to show these gentle loving sheep in FFA competition. They are dual purpose sheep used for wool and meat. We harvest and sell the wool annually, and process lamb at a year and mutton as they age. Southdown meat is flavorful, tender and not at all βgameyβ - just great quality and the wool is appreciated by spinner.
We only support humane harvesting practices with mature responsibly raised animals. Quality USDA facilities process for us and inspected and packaged according to federal laws. Our meats hang dry aging for 14 days.
Scott and Jane Sandifeer have spent a great deal of their lives managing large commercial operations - since 2013, committed to reviving a retired farm back to a thriving farm just outside of Farmersville, Texas. Piedmontese cattle are a very unique and special breed, we hope to share with you the most healthy lean beef available. Thank you for your support - Go Local!
