It’s back to school season at Montero Violins! If you haven’t already reserved your instrument rental, now is the time to do so! We made our first delivery of the season today with 25 violins and violas and 15 cellos going to students who started school today. Thankfully, there was enough room to see out the back window!

Michael and Jennifer,

First of all, thank you for an excellent bow rehairing. All of my violins sound much better now. I also think that I really like the bow that was rehaired. I'm really glad you did not apply powdered rosin as is sometimes done by other shops.

Thank you for giving me your opinion of my Dad's Grienberger violin. Thanks even more for playing it. I was much impressed with the sound that you produced, and the quality of your playing. I hadn't heard that sound since the last time my dad played it over a dozen years ago, and it brought back memories.

Jennifer, thanks for allowing me to try out those two excellent violins in your violin room. Up until now, I never had any opportunity to play such excellent instruments. Both were memorable, and I now have a much better idea of where my own violins fall in the spectrum of violin quality. This knowledge is valuable to me, and somehow comforting as well.

Michael, I swear my violin sounds somewhat better after you adjusted the soundpost. I don't know whether it's just my imagination, but I suspect it is the result of your adjustment. It's not just a result of the rehaired bow, as I notice the change with my other bow as well. Thank you for this.

I'm sure I will visit your shop again before too long.
