I have always loved that lilac seem to bloom on my birthday. They are one of my favorites if only they lasted longer. But as I find as I’m getting older some of the best things are only last a little while and you enjoy them while you can. These purple ones smell amazing. Do not wait to enjoy the things that make you happy. Pick the flowers from your garden and put them on your dining room table. Smell them. Enjoy them and love them. Make time to sit on your porch. Make time to call a friend. Have a glass of wine. Eat ice cream. Those are the things that are short but sweet.
