It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the founder of Hodgson’s Pools.

Clifton Hodgson passed away peaceful and suddenly on Wednesday, July 20th at his home in Florida.

Cliff is the late husband of Evelyn Hodgson who was also a founder of Hodgson’s and sadly passed in December of 2009.

Cliff started Hodgson Pools in 1958 as a small pool store selling pools house to house and grew the business not only into pools but to lawn and garden equipment and Lionel trains.

Cliff was also a Korean War veteran. Cliff enjoyed his retirement here in East Aurora, Rushford Lake and in Florida. He loved boating, working outside around his house, spending time with family and observing operations at Hodgson’s.

His uncannily smile will be missed by many. He would have celebrated his 93rd birthday in August.

We appreciate all the messages, phone calls and text messages during this difficult time.
