Been super busy lately but I had to get a few pics up of this guy. This is what will be my new M3 Passive Bass. The body is ebonized walnut with a maple insert. I love ebonizing walnut because it seems black at first but its really a very dark brown that varies in intensity where the wood has more tannins.

That big pickup houses 20 individual coils that are arranged and wired into into 4 rows. Each row is humbucking, clean and powerful, with a strong, well defined low end. Combinations of these rows are selected using a 4 position rotary switch, which allows you to quickly and easily change the voicing of the bass

The volume is a push/pull, and when pulled up adds brightness and top end sparkle to the tone.

The tone k**b is also a push/pull. When down it functions normally, however, when pulled up it engages a smaller capacitor and allows you to fine tune the top end of your tone.

The neck is a KLŌS Guitars carbon fiber 22 fret neck with stainless frets. It's amazingly stable and resonant!

The pickup is hard mounted to the body using a 4 point system that allows you to rotate and level it however you want.

To say that I've been busy lately is a huge understatement, and I've got alot of other new products coming out shortly, so stay posted!

Got to hang out with the The Heartbursts last night! Really cool seeing Matt rockin his Weldang M3 5 string bass the whole night! The M3 is a new model featuring our big 4-row multicoil pickup that has a multitude series/parallel, and row combinations that let him dial in exactly the voice he needs for any situation. This is also the first model of ours to use the Klos 22 fret carbon fiber neck.

Levon sent me a few pics of his Ibanez Ergodyne bass that he just stripped down, shielded the cavities, shimmed the neck, deep cleaned the bridge, installed the Lusithand Devices Double nfp special mkii preamp, and a pair of custom sized Phat Momma multicoil pickups!

Multicoils for your jazz bass. Individual coils for each string makes for a very efficient design. String mid/low end while retaining clarity.

Been super busy working on a number of updates/new models. One of those is providing access to all of the coil pairs via a wiring harness. This will let you use the same pickup with filter based preamps, or passively on its own, simply by swapping the wiring harness.

1 humbucker per string in your P bass!!! This pickup set features 8 powerful coils (4 per piece) wired so that there is 1 humbucker for each string. This gives you clarity, punch, and sonic options that previously weren't available for a p bass. Pairs exceptionally well with the Lusithand Devices Double NFP Special mkII filter based preamp. Or use it passively by wiring pairs together. Pins on the back allow access to all the coils so that changing wiring is simple.

I've got a lot of new products and updates coming out soon and I wasn't planning on releasing this one yet until everything else was ready. However, a good customer reached out to see if 1 humbucker/string on a p bass was possible and I couldn't say no! He was really happy with his Phat Momma 4/Lustihand Double NFP Special setup and really wanted to get that combo on his p bass as well!

Mike sent me this pic of his Kiesel Guitars 4 string that he majorly upgraded with the Lusithand Devices Double NFP Special MKII preamp, and a pair our "Hammer" multicoil pickups that were wired for 1 humbucker per string! The pickups were custom sized to fit the Kiesel based off of his dimensions and look killer in that bass! The tone sculpting potential with this setup is near limitless, I'm constantly amazed by that preamp and how this combo shapes the character and "voice" of your bass.

The soapbars are custom sized, wired 1 humbucker/string to work with the Lusithand Devices Double NFP mkii preamp, and staying stateside, while the other pair fit a jazz bass and are headin down under. Need a custom size? Just let me know!

This thing is a passive tone beast! Lol! If you're obsessive about your tone like I am, this should fit the bill. That big multicoil pickup has 4 rows of coils, and you can run virtually any combination of them in either series or parallel, or use a row by itself. This itself gives you a HUGE range of voices that can go from jazz bass types tones, to stingray types, even over to mid heavy warwick type sounds.

But wait, there's more!

The tone k**b works a little differently. It actually changes the resonant frequency (the voice) of the pickup, rather than just rolling off the treble. This let's you actually dial in the character of the bass.

The neck is a KLŌS Guitars carbon fiber neck. These things are awesome! Super stable and easy to dial in the action you want. It also comes already plek'd from the factory. I've been using them for a few years now and I've been really impressed!

My next 2 builds are both going to be using this body style and neck, one's a five string the other's a four. Hopefully I'll be getting some recordings up soon.

Gettin this bad boy all wired up! For me, this is a really satisfying part of the process because so much of a bass guitars sound is shaped by the pickup. On my passive guitars, I like to wire each row of coils in series. Each row is humbucking, and selecting different combinations of rows shapes the voice of the bass.

Rows 1 and 4: This combo gives a real growly, jazz bass type sound.

Rows 2 and 3: These rows together capture that punchy MM tone.

Rows 2 and 4: These rows together have that mid focused, thumb bass type of voice.

On this bass the rows will be able to be used solo, or a huge amount of series or parallel combos. If you're into experimenting with different sounds, this one won't disappoint!
