Parenting is hard. Parenting with chronic illness? A whole different level of exhausting.

Hannah Herrington, a local mom of two who’s lived with Crohn’s disease for nearly 30 years, is exploring Patient: Mom, a community for moms navigating chronic illness.

She’s hoping to create space for connection, support, resources, and occasionally screaming into the void with people who actually get it.

The RBP could potentially host in-person meetups, but first, she wants to hear what people need.

Support groups? Casual meetups? Just being around people who understand without having to explain yourself?

If this sounds like something you could use, please fill out her interest form and share it with others who might benefit.

Chronic illness can be isolating enough. Community shouldn’t have to be.

Hi there! I'm Hannah - a mom to 2 girls (ages 9 and 5), and Crohn's disease (among other things) patient for almost 30 years. I'm just getting out of a particularly hard season of my life. A terrible flare has made the last 18 months pretty damn difficult. Parenting, working, and surviving a body th...

Booked & Blooming: A Book Vase Workshop

Tuesday, November 17 | 7–9 PM | $40 per person

Give an old book a new chapter.

Some books deserve a second chapter. Others deserve to become a vase full of flowers.

Join us at The RBP as we turn old hardcover books into one-of-a-kind floral arrangements.

You’ll fold and secure sections of book pages to create a sculptural vase shape, then arrange faux flowers, greenery, and decorative accents between the pages to bring your creation to life. Go romantic and whimsical, dark and moody, or somewhere in between.

All supplies included:

* One hardcover book
* Faux flowers, greenery, and decorative accents
* Assembly supplies and step-by-step instruction

Have a hardcover book you’d rather use? Bring it along! Otherwise, we’ve got you covered.

No experience necessary. Just bring yourself, your creativity, and maybe your emotional support beverage.

Space is limited. Reserve your spot at therbp.co.

When you turn your ADHD-fueled Google Doc of business ideas into an actual storefront, people eventually start asking questions.

Maryland Business Monthly featured The RBP, and we got to talk about how this whole thing came to be, why it’s called The Resting Bitch Place, and what I’m actually trying to build here.

Spoiler: It’s never really been about the crafts.

The crafts are just an excuse to get people in a room together. To make friends, find community, have somewhere to exist without expectations, and maybe make something along the way.

Still figuring it all out, but it’s pretty cool to see this little place getting some attention.

Thanks to Maryland Business Monthly for sharing our story. Give the article a read, then come see what we’re all about.

Make things. Build community. Give a damn.
