Bringing Home the Bacon...and sausage, and ham steaks, and ribs, and bacon, and pork chops, and tenderloin, and bacon, and shoulder roasts, and porterhouse chops, and, did i say bacon...um, yeah, bacon, and more sausage, and...just plain ole good pork from happy, healthy hogs!!! Our hogs get NO GMOs, NO antibiotics, NO hormones. They DO get plenty of room to run & play, lots of wallows, sun, water, woods, grass, & love! Message, call or email in your order & we will let you know when we have a drop off scheduled in your area (Huntsville, Madison, Athens, & Ardmore). For folks near Athens, TN, get your orders in before noon Thursday & you can get your goodies this weekend!!!

Our hogs are heritage breeds that we maintain in support of the Livestock Conservancy efforts to maintain rare or endangered heritage livestock. We have purebred Red Wattles and purebred (non industry) old style Berkshires. We selected these breeds for a combination of temperament, ability to forage & farrow naturally, and flavor. This cross gives a great balance of flavorful meat with actual pork flavor combined with a nice fat marbling. This is NOT anything like the almost tasteless pork you find in the grocery store. You will notice differences in color, texture, & flavor compared to the usual grocery pork. For example, one of our favorite cuts is the shoulder roast...it has 3 distinct sections that each taste different. One is similar to a good meaty tasting ham, one like beef roast, & one like dark meat turkey. Crazy good stuff!

The "Green Spot Girls" (Ariel & Jasmine) got in the spirit of Thanks AND Giving this weekend...they decided to donate their hair to Children With Hair Loss again after growing it out for the past couple years since their first donation!!! Check 'em out! That's a lotta hair...and we thank Ms. Amy at Hair by Amy in Athens, AL for making it happen! We found her due to a raffle donation she made to our local school system (awesome & much appreciated)! She was great with the girls & did an awesome job on their Cutie cuts. The girls said it was a "Happy Hair Day"! Go see Amy & have a your own Happy Hair Day! Thank you Amy!!!

Thanks to all who came to visit us the UTCT show today!!! We met lots of awesome folks. Here is one of our newest friends (& soon to be model) showing off her Mom's ingenious idea for how to use our coconut fair trade distant village accent pieces!!! She wants to bring back the t-shirt tie clips...we agree, there are so many possibilities. Coconut pieces obviously work, they could be a good use of recycled plastics, y'all have other ideas? Hmmmm...might there be a "save the t-shirt clips" campaign on the horizon?!
