As the deer woods are greening up, salt and minerals become necessary for the deer herd. Bucks are starting antler growth , and Does are getting ready to drop fawns and start lactating to feed their newborns. Both genders can be aided by a good mineral plan. I have already started my Lucky Buck mineral sites. Also set cameras and have deer hitting sites regularly. I have attached several photos !

A puppy was brought to the shelter, paralyzed with fear. A sweet lonely pup Lucy who was also waiting for a forever home took to her immediately, they formed a bond and clung together. The shelter decided to only adopt the two of them together as a pair. Happily, one of the volunteers at the shelter fell in love with them both and is taking them home today.

Another great use of venison ! Made venison and sausage meatballs in marinara sauce over pasta for a very tasty dinner. Best of all enough meatballs left for meatball subs later this week . 1 pound ground venison , 1 pound ground Italian sausage, blend in 1 egg and 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and parsley flakes. Roll into balls and brown in heavy pan with olive oil and finish in sauce .
