Why I started painting....
I have always been looking for the “One Bait” that will out fish everyone else on the water. It was myself and 2 of my friends in the b

oat, we were chucking crank baits up on a flat and cranking them off of the edge of a drop off. Once I quit feeling the bottom of the lake I had to hang on, the bass would just slam my crank bait about 4 to 6 feet off of that break. I was catching a fish about every 3rd cast, it was incredible. My 2 friends that were in the boat with me had baits similar to mine, same bait, but a little different color. I bet I out fished them maybe 4 or 5 fish to 1, it was insane. That same bait proved it’s self again on the same body of water a year or two later in a tournament. My partner and I ran to that same drop off and I started chucking that same crank bait. Once again I had the “Hot Bait”, my partner had on close to mine and he caught a few fish, but not nearly as many as I did. We spent about 30 minutes on that spot filled our limit and culled a few pups out of the box. In the end we ended up winning that tournament w/ 5 smallmouths on a body of water that is dominated by largemouth……
So, having said all of that, I decided to try my hand at painting my own hard baits to create unique colors and patterns that the fish are not used to seeing.

It has been a hot minute since I have posted any baits. Work and chores keep me way to busy.

After 2 days Im sold on swimbait fishing, these baits have a natural swimming action that fishi can not resist.
We had 5 or 6 in the boat, lost 2 or 3 and multiple followers. From what I understand it's not common to have that kid of a weekend fishing for stripers using artificial bait.
Colors we caught all our fish on were Skipjack, Rainbow Trout, Gizzard Shad and Red Horse sucker.

Steve lives along the Kentucky and Tennessee boarder and is an avid fisherman and guide in that area. He came to me a little over a year ago looking for an 8 to 9-inch slow sinking glide bait that resembled a Skip-jack. I sent him photographs of glide bait blanks that were available in that size and he decided on an 8” slow sinking trout glide bait.
After receiving his original order of 2 or 3 baits he discovered that these baits had an incredible swimming action that would draw big stripers out of hiding and destroy this bait. Since then he has lost the baits to big Stripers and had to order more.
