Small restock today and a book club order! History Smashers have been flying off the shelves, they’re a mix between a chapter book and graphic novel. We were finally able to get more copies of Mad Mabel and Steph’s current favorite book of ‘26: The Burning Side.

Still thinking about how awesome this past weekend was! Can we do it again? 😂 We decided that with so many entries to our giveaway that we wanted to throw a little surprise into the mix and pick a few more names!

A line before we open the doors will never cease to amaze me. And the fact that we have the privilege of providing this space and experience to our community? So grateful. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of your story and for becoming part of ours as well. Loved seeing so so many of our regulars today and so many new faces! You kept us busy all day, and the coffee side too!

Hi, friends! Stephanie here. Just wanted to take a moment to share a bit of my heart.

Today marks ONE year open as The Story Room. This blows my mind. If you’d have told me in 2024 that this is where we’d be today…I’d have laughed. Because, honestly? How is this actually my life? God’s plans are always bigger and better than our own, that is for sure.

I have dreams for this store and this corner we call The Village Square. But none of them are possible without all of YOU. The ones that share and interact with our posts. The ones that tell their friends to come shop. The ones that support us endlessly through special orders, purchases, and visits. The ones that have moved beyond just customers and truly became our friends. I’m so humbled by it all.

Sure, this is a business. And we need to consistently make money to pay our bills and stay open. But it’s more than that to us. This store is a place for community. A place to know you are valued. A space that feels *different* the moment you walk in. Somewhere you *want* to revisit again and again.

We appreciate each and every person that we have connected with this past year. Our greatest prayer is that we’ve also meant something to you too, that we’ve been able to provide a welcoming and warm environment for you to experience and share. As we look ahead to year 2, we can’t wait to see what happens next.

This week is a 🎉big one🎉 for our little bookstore…we opened one year ago on June 4th! We cannot believe it has already been a year. 😱 Of course we’re gonna have a party to celebrate this Saturday, June 6, from 10-3!!
