Our Monument Design Software & Stencil Cutters Are Tax Deductible!

It's important to remember tax deductions as you wrap up your year. Design Mart offers two products/services that may be eligible for deductions.

✅ Stencil Cutters and Related Software

Section 179 allows businesses to expense the full purchase price of equipment and software purchased and delivered before December 31, 2025 rather than depreciating it over several years. This involves submitting IRS Form 4562 (Depreciation & Amortization) along with your tax return.

✅ Software Subscriptions

That's right. Software as a Service (SaaS) subscriptions, such as Design Mart's Online Monument Designer are deductible expenses in the year in which they are paid for or used. These monthly subscription fees are similar to rent or utility payments, and are considered deductible immediate, ongoing business operating expenses under IRS Section 162. If you are self-employed or a sole proprietorship, this expense is usually reported on Schedule C of your personal tax return. If you are a corporation, these are usually listed as Other Deductions or Other Expenses on Form 1120. This is different from software that is purchased outright.

Consult your tax advisor or CPA for details and to be certain you qualify for any deductions.
