business, Scott now has the means and time to devote to his hobbies. Besides slot cars he enjoys racing full-size vintage machinery, everything from Corvette Sting Rays to a Can-Am Lola T165, and a March F1 formerly raced by the great Ronnie Peterson. Race Week! The 2026 Scaleauto Festival starts this weekend! On Saturday, the Sprint 1/32 GT Race takes place at Cunningham Raceway, and on Sunday, eight teams will race a 4-hour Enduro at Nyland Raceway using the 1/24 LMP cars. Ivan Basas, CEO of Scaleauto, is coming and racing with his two sons Jan and Pau. This year’s poster features an incredible shot from the talented - shot done at Daytona last year. We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jim Michaelian, the visionary behind the Long Beach Grand Prix. Jim dedicated his life to motorsport and built the LBGP into the incredible event it is today. Late last year, he stopped by the shop and generously shared a bit of his life story with us. We’ll always be proud and honored to have documented those memories. Rest in peace, Jim.
