One of our helpers, DENNIS MURPHREE, stands at a side entrance to our church on Sunday mornings to hand out bulletins to those arriving for Sunday School.

It was announced this week that our old building was going to be torn down. Sad.....many happy years spent there. But I was already told that it was structurally unsound and actually that was all that could be done. I made many friends there.....customers that became my friends that would last a lifetime. I am still not comfortable with retirement....miss my shop, and the people that gave me so much happiness over the years. Miss my little dog that was our shop mascot, Cookie. There will never be another one like her. She loved everyone. Thanks to all of you that made our years in this old building so enjoyable. End of an Era!

I am missing my shop today. Ran into a former customer at Walmart, and she was still carrying an "I Love Lucy" purse that she had bought many years ago....and surprisingly, it still looked good! I miss seeing and visiting with the customers and I miss the last minute shopping of the men for their wives. I had some regular ones that came in on Christmas Eve every single year! It will be three years this February since I closed, but I still miss seeing everyone! I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and may the Lord Bless you this coming New Year!

I keep coming in contact with people that remember me from my shop.....a visitor at our church remarked "Oh, I know you! You had Pat's Glass. and a sweet little dog named Cookie!" The lady that works at the Lab when I went to have my blood test last week, remembered that her husband had bought a beautiful bell from me for her Mother's Day gift. Seems like wherever I go, I see former customers. So good to see them, but makes me sad that I don't still have the shop, but know that it is God's Will that I am home now. And like a little wall hanging that I had in my store is so true to life..."Old Age Ain't for Sissies!" My doctor even told me that! LOL I thank the Lord for the years that I had in my shop, and the wonderful people that I met that will always be a part of my life.

Hope all have a wonderful, Blessed 2016. It has been two years since I closed my gift shop, and I still miss it! My wonderful customers that I so enjoyed visiting with, my great Reps over the years that it was such a pleasure for them to come and see me, I miss so much. The beautiful Fenton Glassware, and other lines that I sold and loved. I didn't sell anything that I wouldn't have wanted to own or purchase myself. We have had lots of health issues, so the Lord knew best in our closing. Even though I miss everything about my shop, I can see where it has all worked together for the good in our retirement. May the Lord Bless you all richly this New Year.....and I love you!
