Meet our new owner, Katie Farrin!

Katie is an El Dorado native and 2005 graduate of El Dorado High School. She returned to our charming town in 2013 after college and a short stint in Texas. She is an avid reader who opens a book any chance she gets.

A mom to three and soon to celebrate 15 years of marriage with her husband Rusty, Katie loves her family and the joy they bring her.

Katie is excited for this new adventure with Jefferson Street Books. She has great ideas and a passion to see this space thrive in our quaint town. She believes that community is everything, books are magic and a heartfelt gift just can’t be beat.

Good things are coming friends! 🌸

In 1999 I purchased JD Booksellers from Heidi Giller Meadows. At the time, I never could have imagined what the next 25 years had in store for us.
I have gotten to meet and befriend so many people over the years. I have watched toddlers and kids come shop with their mothers or grandmothers, who now bring in their own children to pick out books. The heart swell I get when they explain to their children how they used to love stopping in to shop as a little one.

It has been a joy and a privledge to work and serve in the community of El Dorado. The Vaughan family thanks everyone who has supported us over the years. We look forward to what the new owners have in store for you!
