Strawberries are attempting to ripen. Did you know that if my life depended on my ability to grow strawberries that I would have died 10 days ago? No? That’s just not good.

It rained this morning HALLELUJAH and now there is a breeze. Did you know that the stems on plants get wider and stronger when they have a breeze?

Bell pepper plant seems extra happy.

Our first substantial rain in weeks. Honestly, our garden is not thriving like in the past few years. Drought and hard to find good plants has been an issue. Truth is we will get some food. We will most likely be pleasantly surprised with some of our garden plants.

It will be the most organized looking garden we have ever had. Maybe I’ll learn a lot from that.

My reason for having the rows wider is I can’t afford to trip this year. I was on crutches for two weeks in late April. Did pool therapy for most of May. Just now feeling like I can walk and not trip.

We garden to have fresh food but there is always that spiritual stuff scattered in all of it. That small still voice. And the rain sounds so peaceful right now.

We planted the last of the tomato plants. Bush Steak variety. Crazy how small they are. Like I stated in other posts, it’s been a challenge to find plants this year. Maybe a bad year to not grow my own tomatoes from seed. I usually lose 50% of my plants I grow in the house so…

The red deuce look really good. They have been in the ground about 10 days. The pickling pickles look really good. The beans are sprouting and the pepper plants are thriving.

I planted some celery and basil. The zucchini are kicking butt and the Christmas beans are popping up. Delicata are looking really good.

We need rain but all is well.
