The shop is rolling right along and I’ve been too busy to post for a long time. Thank you to everyone who has been keeping me busy with work! I just added a new page to the website as I’m beginning to sell some good quality pre-owned instruments. They’re all tuned up and ready to play. Follow the links or contact for more info if interested. 🎷🙏🏻

I don’t do brass instrument work (much anymore) but I had to get this vintage mouthpiece puller because it’s rad and I’ve never seen a stuck mouthpiece it can’t pull. Pretty happy I found this one in mint condition with the original packaging.

Polished up this Yamaha YAS-62S alto. Quite the satisfying result but it is some tedious work- whole lotta nooks and crannies on a saxophone! Lookin good now and plays even better.

Continuing to set up the shop and organize as I go- it’s really coming together nicely.

~1927 Buescher True Tone Alto Saxophone mechanical overhaul. I quite like working with the snap-in pads. Originally I believe the concept was so that the player could replace pads themselves. The pads were dry-fit and held in with the resonator which snaps onto the spud. Normally, saxophone pads are glued into the key cup with a hot-melt adhesive such as shellac. With these Bueschers I like to apply a thin layer of shellac to the back of the pad before snapping it in. Super stable!

Whew! It’s been a busy summer and back-to-school season. I’m super grateful for all of the musicians and teachers who continue to entrust me with their instruments.

I am really enjoying wearing so many hats- repairing, scheduling, emailing, parts ordering, organizing, invoicing, delivering to local schools, working on the physical space- but it’s been a challenge to find time for social media posting! More to come.
