We’ll create colorful mixed-media masterboards using papers, stamps, inks, stencils, and all kinds of fun supplies. Then you’ll discover a surprise challenge for how to use your finished piece. No two will be alike!

🎭 FRIDAY | Open Studio | 4:00–8:00 PM
Our hours are a little different this week because of appointments earlier in the day, but we’ll be open and creating Friday evening!

🎉 Pass the Project Pop-Up | 6:00–8:00 PM
This one is pure chaos in the best possible way. Everyone starts a project. Every 10 minutes we pass it to the next person. By the end of the night you’ll leave with a completely unique creation that has been touched by every artist at the table. No pressure. No perfection. Just laughter and creativity.

One of the most elegant mixed-media projects we’ve offered. Layers, texture, fabrics, and beautiful details come together to create a stunning finished piece you’ll be proud to display.

What a fun night at our Paint Party at Texlahoma BBQ!

We laughed, painted, celebrated a birthday, enjoyed some amazing BBQ, and turned blank canvases into patriotic pig masterpieces. 🇺🇸🐷🎆

One of my favorite things about paint parties is watching everyone start with the same design and end up with artwork that is uniquely their own. Tonight’s group absolutely nailed it!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to the wonderful team at Texlahoma BBQ for hosting us.

And here’s the exciting news… this is just the beginning! 🎉

Our Paint Parties at Texlahoma BBQ are becoming a regular thing, so be sure to keep an eye on our schedule for upcoming dates and projects. You never know what we’ll be painting next!

🐾 From Baxter…

Hi friends,

It’s me, Baxter.

Usually I’m here to tell you about tennis balls, naps, daycare adventures, and whether Mom remembered to share her snacks.

Today I need to talk about something a little more important.

Now, before everyone starts asking questions, apparently there are these things called HIPAA laws that prevent me from sharing all of Mom’s medical details. (Trust me, I’ve tried. Being Chief Morale Officer does not come with access to medical records.)

What I can tell you is that a few weeks ago Mom received a breast cancer diagnosis. Since then, there have been doctor appointments, surgery, tests, and a lot happening behind the scenes while she’s continued doing her very best to keep The Studio running.

If you’ve been in lately, you may have noticed Mom slowing down a little or adjusting some things. That’s because over the next few months she’ll be beginning additional treatments and focusing on healing.

Now before anyone panics…the cancer was caught early, and Mom has a great medical team helping guide the next steps. There are still treatments ahead, but we’re very thankful it was found when it was. Mom is doing well, staying positive, and fully intends to keep creating, teaching, and doing what she loves.

While we’re talking about it, I have an important public service announcement:

Please take care of yourselves.

Schedule the mammogram.
Make the appointment.
Get the checkup.
Don’t put it off because you’re busy taking care of everyone else.

Early detection matters, and we’re incredibly grateful this was found when it was.

Most importantly, Mom’s faith is strong. We know God is walking this journey with us every step of the way. There may be treatments ahead, but we believe this is simply one chapter of the story. We fully expect to look back one day and talk about how God carried Mom through this season and helped her conquer cancer.

Now for the practical stuff…

Over the next few months, there may be times when studio hours need to shift due to appointments, treatments, or simply because Mom’s body needs a little extra rest.

To help make things easier, class schedules will be released two weeks at a time for the next couple of months rather than farther in advance. This will allow Mom to continue offering classes and events while also giving herself the flexibility she needs during treatment.

The good news is that The Studio isn’t going anywhere.

Classes will continue.
Creativity will continue.
Community will continue.

Some things may look a little different from time to time, but we’re still here.

The Studio has always been about more than art. It’s about community. It’s about showing up for one another. It’s about creating something and belonging somewhere.

Right now, Mom could use a few extra prayers, a little grace when schedules change, and some encouragement along the way. I’ve been helping by supervising naps, providing emotional support, and making sure no snacks go uninspected.

Thank you for supporting The Studio, for understanding when plans occasionally need to adjust, and for being the kind of community that wraps its arms around people when they need it most.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an important appointment with a tennis ball and a nap.

Faith. Memories. Creativity. 💙

I’m so excited to share a sneak peek of an upcoming mixed media class called “Faith in Full color”.

In this workshop, we’ll create a beautiful 8” x 10” faith-inspired canvas featuring layered gears, dimensional florals, rich textures, and a meaningful scripture. The center will hold your own 3” x 4” photo, making this piece a personal reminder of the people, moments, and blessings that matter most.

What makes this project extra special is that you’ll get to choose your own “pop” of color! While the foundation features elegant dark, vintage-inspired tones, you can customize your canvas with an accent color that reflects your style—whether that’s sunshine yellow, coral, turquoise, pink, purple, or something completely different.

🌿 8” x 10” flat canvas board
📸 Add your own 3” x 4” photo
⚙️ Mixed media techniques
🌸 Layered florals and embellishments
🎨 Choose your own accent color
🖼️ Display on an easel or place in your favorite frame

No two canvases will be exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic.

We’re still finalizing the date, but I wanted to give you a first look because this one is already becoming a favorite around the studio!

🐾 BAXTER’S POV 🐾

Excuse me. I’d like to file a formal complaint.

Mom kept me awake all night long. Tossing. Turning. Getting up. Checking things. Moving around.

So naturally, this morning I decided the best course of action was to go to school and play with my friends while she drags herself to The Studio. 😎

As you can see from this photo, I am absolutely exhausted from all the stress of supervising her.

Meanwhile, Mom will be at The Studio at Paper Arts from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM today trying to function on approximately 17 minutes of sleep.

If you’re out and about, stop by and keep her company. She could probably use some caffeine, conversation, and maybe a little creative distraction.

I’ll be busy at daycare living my best life.
