I have been tinkering with a new dry fly for panfish. Using a stimulator as a basic platform, but swapping out most of the natural materials for synthetic materials. This creates a fly that is more durable and floats better. This variant has a lot of potential. The fly in the photo has caught over a dozen fish and looks as good as the day it came off the vise!

A nice haul from Atollas came today. These three Atollas Fly boxes will get loaded up for fall fishing. The Micro Box will be my “GuideBox”. I like these small boxes for storing flies that were used during the day to help me keep track of what worked and what didn’t. This box comes with a removable Velcro patch that mounts on the clip on the back of the box. I have a spot reserved for it on my sling bag. The IGO Box is a workhorse holding everything from dries to streamers. I love the two magnetic pads for the tiny stuff. The 2GO is for the “meat”, big streamers or bass bugs. I am very impressed with these boxes and love the removable “Fly Caddy” feature that gives you a spot to dry flies or stage what you plan on using. I like the fact that these caddies can move from the fly box to your vest/bag or vehicle I have already installed an XL Caddy in my vehicle to store flies when breaking down rods at the end of the day. Well done Atollas! I plan on picking up a few more of these.
