I find and sell back issues of Model and Prototype Railroad Magazines. If you don't see it, I can get it. If I can't get it, you don't need it.

My name is Jim Knoop. I am a 74-year-old purveyor (that’s “seller” for you folks in Rio Linda) of magazines related to trains, both prototype and model. Most of my sales are done through my eBay store, where I am known as nettysdad. I know, I know – that doesn’t sound very “railroady,” but when I started on eBay I didn’t realize that I would be selling – almost exclusively – magazines (and sometim

es books and videos) related to trains. Seems I found what’s called a “niche market.” As I like to tell folks, “If you have a niche, scratch it.” And that’s just what I have done. In something like 10 or 12 years with two different eBay accounts I have sold magazines and railroad-related materials to countless folks, literally around the world – something like 20 or 21 countries so far, and still pumpin’ ‘em out. I solicit your Want / Wish Lists, as there are HUNDREDS of magazines I haven’t had time to list on eBay as yet.

Brand new policy: For buyers in the US: If you buy 25-30 or more magazines (whatever will fit in a USPS Medium flat rate box) I will spring for the postage.

I still have HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of back-issues magazines on trains and model railroading, nearly 600 on eBay and hundreds more unlisted.
I welcome your Want/Wish Lists, because due to increases in both eBay listing fees and postal rates, I may have to bump my prices a bit. I will TRY to hold my very reasonable prices until July 1st, but after that I may have no other recourse. Tell me what you're looking for.

If you and your kids like trains and model railroads, come see me at the big Train Show this coming Sunday at Mt. Clemens High School. I will have three tables of magazines, both model and prototype, plus a few models and toy trains I'm selling for other folks. See operating layouts, tables full of fine scale models, Lionel, American Flyer, N Scale, HO, S, O, G -- all scales and gauges. 10am to 4pm.
