After weeks of planning and a long wedding day, it’s so much fun to finally see everything through the photographer’s eyes. kylie_williamsphotography captured the day beautifully, and healyhollow was the perfect setting! And thanks to Stress-Free Weddings, Inc., the whole day went smoothly!

This couple was such a joy. They were so sweet, so gracious, and in general, just super fun to work with. I loved creating these flowers for them.

One of the hardest parts of being a florist is when Mother Nature has other plans. Ugh😒

A customer requested irises, but the ones I received weren’t nice enough to send out, so I substituted them with purple lisianthus instead. I think it turned out really lovely. (And most importantly, my customer was thrilled!)
I’d much rather change the flowers than compromise on the quality.

The thing I look forward to most every summer is creating flowers for the Figge Art Museum’s annual gala.

This year’s gala was inspired by Raven and the Box of Light, an installation by Native American artist Preston Singletary. I had so much fun gathering sticks, wiring lotus pods, sourcing deer moss, and foraging for weeds that looked authentic to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, but still wanted it to look like a floral installation.

The museum created two of these awesome wire boxes for my flowers to burst out of, and I had so much fun designing around them.

This is the part I love.
Sitting on the floor, covered in leaves, tweaking one flower at a time until everything feels right.

It’s not the most glamorous part of the job, but it’s definitely my favorite!
