Ray Walsh, then a student at MSU, began selling science fiction novels out of his basement in 1969. His bookshop has since expanded to three floors of over 50,000 well-organized books, magazines, comics and other paper items. Do you have books

The Mi Book Hop is back with TWO ways to play this year! Also, the 101 participating stores are not divided into regions this year--visit any participating stores across the state to gather your entries!

If you want to play the classic, bingo card way: get stamps on bingo squares from stores when you complete the actions on each square. Every bingo is one entry into the grand prize pool, or fill the whole card to get twelve entries, an exclusive enamel pin, and an audiobook credit from Libro.fm!

Or try the passport method: if you visit at least three participating stores, every visit is an entry for a tour prize. If you visit at least ten participating stores, every visit is an entry for the grand prize. Get a stamp or initial at each store you visit on the passport side to make your visit count for an entry!

This year, there are forty tour prizes up for grabs! The tour prize is a $25 gift card to a store of your choice. This year's grand prize is a $500 gift card to Bookshop.org. For more details on the prizes, visit the MI Book Hop website!

The 2026 MI Book Hop runs until May 25! Submit your completed bingo card or passport by May 31, either at one of the participating bookstores or online yourself at mibookhop.com. You can also print your own passport/bingo card on their website, or visit any of the participating stores to get one.

Update to our hours for the next few days because the 79th Michigan Antiquarian Book & Paper Show is this Sunday!!

We'll be CLOSED on Saturday, 4/18 for Book Show setup. We'll also be CLOSED Sunday, 4/19 because it's BOOK AND PAPER SHOW DAY and we'll be at the Causeway Bay Hotel & Conference Center--come find us there from 9:30 am to 5 pm and peruse treasure troves of books, magazines, maps, postcards, and more from dealers from around the Midwest. And finally, we're closed Monday, 4/20 for an Employee Appreciation Day. 📚🎊

So if you're looking to do some Curious browsing, today is the day to do it! We're open 10 am to 7 pm today, and we'll be back to our usual hours on Tuesday, 4/21.

We're about a week away from the 79th Michigan Antiquarian Book & Paper Show! Whether you're on the hunt for your white whale of a book or you just want to spend a cozy Sunday flipping through thousands of vintage post cards, you won't want to miss this show.

The Book & Paper show returns Sunday, April 19th, 2026! Peruse through specially curated treasures brought by Midwest book and paper dealers and find the things you've always wanted, but never knew existed. The show is at the Causeway Bay Hotel & Conference Center, 6820 S Cedar St. in Lansing, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 19th.

NEW AUCTION ALERT 🚨 Listed on our eBay page is an unopened box of STAR WARS bubble gum movie photo cards from Topps -- Cantina Series (5th Series). The box is sealed in a plastic bag, not factory-sealed plastic wrap but it remains unopened, all flaps and perforations intact.
