For 66 years, SBS has been so much more than a store. It's been part of the Michigan State experience, a gathering place for Spartans, and, for our family, a labor of love.
Like so many small businesses, we've adapted over the years. About a year ago, as more and more Michigan State course materials moved to digital formats, we made the difficult decision to stop selling textbooks and pivot our business to exclusively offering Spartan spirit gear. It was the end of one chapter, but our commitment to serving the MSU community never changed.
Now we have another bittersweet announcement to share.
Our longtime building will no longer house SBS. On August 2 we are moving to make way for a new development. While it's exciting to see what's ahead for downtown East Lansing, saying goodbye to a place that has been home to SBS for 66 years is incredibly emotional.
For our family, this building represents more than a business. It holds decades of memories, lifelong friendships, incredible employees, and generations of Spartans who walked through our doors. We've watched students become alumni, alumni become parents, and parents bring their own children back to experience the traditions they remembered.
The good news is that SBS isn't going away. We're simply moving down the street into our other location, ONE BLOCK TO THE EAST (now Spartan Corner) located at 515 E Grand River. Here we will continue serving the Spartan community we love with the same team, the same spirit, and the same passion. Our address may change, but our commitment to our customers and to Michigan State never will.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past 66 years. While it's hard to say goodbye to a building that has meant so much to so many, we're excited to continue the SBS tradition in our new home.
