Howdy,
I’ve not posted anything for a bit, but I wanted to point out a new product from Squier. It’s called the Debut and it’s a gem. Great beginners’ guitar but can be modified to suit the most experienced players. They come in three Matte finishes. Black, Dakota Red, and a two-color Sunburst. The feel of the Poplar Matte finished body is very nice. The neck is Maple with a Laurel wood fingerboard. 21 Medium Jumbo Frets With a 42mm nut. The frets right out of the box were level with very minimal fret sprout. The body is thin, but the routing of the cavity allows you to mod the electronics to full-size Pots and Switch. It’s a Snowman route so you could easily put an HH or HSH configuration in the guitar. I’ve been very impressed with the value of this guitar. Like I said, great for beginners and easily upgraded.
This one is the Black Matte finish that has been upgraded. Grover Robomatic 18:1 Tuners, Bone Nut, Stainless Steel Saddles, Larger Mass Tremolo Block, Oak Grigsby 5-Way Switch, CTS 500K Volume, CTS 250K Middle Tone Pot and a CTS 500K Pot on the Bridge Tone. It uses 470Kohm Resisters on the Neck and Middle Pickups to make the Volume act like a 250K Pot when the Neck and Middle Pickups are active, Orange Drop .047uf Cap on the Middle Tone Pot, .022uf Cap on the Bridge Tone, Orange Drop Treble Bleed.
Guitar Madness A5 62z’s Neck and Middle Pickups with a Guitar Madness A5 Hot Dual Rail single coil size Humbucker in the Bridge. It features Split Tone wiring ,7-Way Switching (Gilmour) Mod, with a coil split on the Bridge. Mini toggle switch are used for the 7-Way Switching and Coil Split. Buddy Guy inspired Matte Finish Pickguard.
The guitar weighs about 10 pounds so it’s not light. Upgraded it plays way about its price. The basic model sells for $120.00 on Amazon and comes with free lessons and a two-year warranty. What’s not to love about that???
