I’m super excited about this Idaho! This was a “commissioned” piece for a friend of mine, ! I’ve known Brooke since we were in second grade, and even back then she had a huge love of Boise and Idaho (we grew up in New Mexico). I’m so pleased to be able to support her and her mission to keep Idaho a great place to live!

I’m so excited for these next two projects! Always a learning experience! I was messing with my router last night, but super excited to see the finished result! One is for a long-time, dear friend of mine. Super happy to be able to support our local leaders!

Hmmm… what to do with these? I enjoyed making them, but as a wise friend told me the other day, everything in your home has to have a home, and I just don’t have a home for these! Do you? Message me if you’re interested in adding one of these to your home!

It’s fun to see a project through to completion! This was a fun one, and definitely a learning experience for me. This one has two new elements- biscuits and epoxy, though the epoxy didn’t work the way I wanted it to- liquids are tough to keep in the places they’re supposed to be… but the biscuits really made a difference in the structure of the piece. With so many small parts, I would have used a ton of brad nails to keep it all together. While it was a pain to cut the grooves for the biscuits, it held together much better than previous projects. So now that I understand those better, I think I’ll have a much better and easier time getting these together. I’ve also got some new ideas to use with the epoxy to get fun new designs incorporated into the face of the piece.

This Idaho pendant was one of my first. It’s funny to look at the design and construction changes over time- I find I prefer natural wood, no lacquer or other finishes.

This was the first piece of wood that inspired me to try making jewelry and ornaments- I split the log for firewood, but immediately decided it was WAY too cool to burn. The tree was in a bad location on my property, actually touching the house. It also had nasty thorns and needles that made it really hard to walk around. So I took it out, not even thinking of the beauty of the wood. Glad that one day I was paying attention to natures art! The wood has since made its way into Christmas tree ornaments and earrings and necklaces, and gave me a fun hobby!

I spy with my little eye… potential! Woohoo! Thank you Karl! I’m excited for the next creations!

The wood for these earrings came from a tree I had chopped down in my yard. The wood was way too pretty to use as fire wood, so I’ve since turned it into jewelry and other ornaments!
