Mario Fraga started his music instruction at age 4, on the drums, guided by his father, himself a professional musican and band leader. He took up saxophone at age 9, and piano and guitar at 12, at which time he started performing professionally, with his father's band, playing saxophone.The music of Beethoven, Bach and Mozart made a huge impression on him, as he delved into classical music, devel
oping advanced musicianship skills during his early teenage years.His first music teaching job was at the Casa de la Cultura, as a piano and guitar instructor. During his tenure there, he travelled to Saltillo Coahuila, Leon Guanajuato, Aguascalientes Aguascalientes, and Morelia Michoacán, receiving instruction in both, music pedagogy and performance. For 4 years in his early 20's be travelled during weekends to Saltillo Coahuila, to receive piano instruction at the prestigious Harlan Laroche Piano Academy, which sponsored him to perform piano solo recitals there. During that time, he attended college, earning a BA in elementary education.He opened his music studio in Eagle Pass in 1983, and has since then, instructed hundreds of students of all ages in this art. In the late 80's early 90's he studied classical guitar during weekends in San Antonio.He has belonged to Texas Music Educators Association, and The Arts Council of Eagle Pass for many years. Gloria Fraga took piano lessons since a very young age, and performed extensively as well. Later, she earned a degree in pedagogy, and has, since then, used that knowledge and skills to teach music.
