This Much I Promise: Am sharing the stunning early June peonies that always erupt in the Finger Lakes at my friendā€™s iconic farm to share this important message.
I will promise to showcase the amazing work at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Memorial Hospital, going forward. We are so blessed beyond belief to have the assets we have in this corner of the world. We have countless talented people hereā€”Iā€™m so grateful. My surgery will be early Mondayā€”in the best hands possible. In an instant, my speechā€”basic writing skillsā€”changed greatly, something I took for granted. A normal post like this now takes labored effort, Iā€™m making lots of mistakes. Dating back to my TV sports anchor years, this was never an issueā€”and now it is. This much I can promise youā€”I will fight this like mad and will pay it forward to the men and women who work at the URMC. Iā€™ll figure all of this out in the coming weeks and monthsā€”Iā€™m going to use this platform and exposure to put the spotlight on the brain surgery initiative here at URMC.
I spent a lengthy dayā€”first this morningā€”with anesthesia doctors, nurses and lots of others. Then did a four hour brain mapping testing clinical study done here at URMC that is a handful in the United States. Iā€™m grateful for all of these assets, these passionate people, and will promise you I will pay it forward!
Lastly, the tens of thousands of comments, direct messages, texts ā€”itā€™s beyond belief for my family and I. The folks who have been through this, thousands of them, it is comforting. People from all over the world who have offered love and compassionā€”it warms the heart. Pictures and videos of nature being sent from across the globe, itā€™s astounding. Iā€™ve always said here on my page that at the end of the day, itā€™s a quaint community in this social media world that can sometimes be a hell scape out there. Iā€™m touched in ways you truly canā€™t imagine. ā¤ļø
