While we're talking 3D efforts at Lines West, check out this Espee 53' bulkhead flat car in work. The design work on this car is beautiful - check out those weathered decks! We'll have decals for these cars too, both an option for the kits and a master Espee 53' (and 40'!) flat car set. More on these soon!

Almost there…. Test decals - well, most of them, anyway - are in place on the pending Lines West SP B-100-39 “popsicle” 3D-printed boxcar kit in HO scale. Things mostly fit as intended, but the art required a few adjustments to fit better over the side posts and waffles.

With adjustments to the art now in place, the decals are ready to go for production printing this week.

This car won’t be an “easy” one to decal given the nature of the car design, but it can be done, and the effort should be worth it. More pictures to come!

We've been a bit quiet on the social front lately, but there's a lot going on behind the scenes. There's lots of new 3D printed projects underway, and among other things, we're working on decals to support them.

Here's a case in point - Lines West Products is working on a 3D printed model of the Espee's B-100-39 "popsicle stick" PCF 60' 100-ton boxcar in HO scale. We have an early copy so we can finalize decal sizing and get sets printed to support this release.

We'll have four schemes to choose from, including SP as-delivered, SP UP repainted scheme, Golden West Service cars, and that single Conrail repaint car decked out in the can opener scheme.

You can learn more about this Lines West offering here: https://www.facebook.com/lineswestproducts

Once these are done, there's a lot more coming. More details here in due time....

Also available - decals for White City Terminal Railroad PS 5344 CuFt boxcars now available in 3D printed form from Keystone Prototype Models via 3D Central:

https://railtrainhobbies.com/products/decals-white-city-terminal-ps-5344-double-door-boxcar

These 50'6" 5344 CuFt boxcars were purchased new by the White City Terminal Railroad, an industrial switching railroad in the Rogue Valley area outside of Medford, Oregon. These plainly painted cars were in contrast to many of the per-diem cars running around the nation's railroads when delivered, but they served as a sort of 'surge fleet' for the SP's lumber operations in Oregon and were a very common site intermixed with SP's vast fleet of 50' and 52' lumber boxcars. These cars were subsequently leased to ICG and then other railroads as the WCTR reduced their boxcar fleet throughout the 1980s.

This decal sheet includes numerous pre-defined numbers as well as 0-9 number blocks that allow you to model any car number of your choice. The set includes a few data variations that appeared on these cars as well. In addition, it includes patch options you can use to model these cars ICG and QC, as they appeared later in life.

Available now! If you're an SP modeler, you need WCTR cars in your lumber trains!

Now available, Seattle & North Coast PS 5344 decal set to support the new release from Keystone Prototype Models, available via 3D Central:

https://railtrainhobbies.com/products/decals-seattle-north-coast-ps-5344-double-door-boxcar

This decal set is designed to letter one complete version of the as-delivered Pullman-Standard 5344 CuFt boxcar as purchased new by Seattle & North Coast. These 50'6" 5344 CuFt boxcars were purchased new by the Seattle & North Coast railroad in mid-1980 when this startup railroad took over the old Milwaukee Road branchline trackage between Port Townsend and Port Angeles, WA. Timber was the product, and this fledgling entity tried make a go of things for just under 5 years. When the railroad folded, these cars were subsequently leased out to the Seaboard (SBD) and then Burlington Northern before scattering into numerous lease fleets. Going on 50 years old, you can still see these cars in what's left of their factory paint hauling waste paper products and other low-end commodities as they run out their final years.

This XL decal sheet includes numerous pre-defined numbers as well as 0-9 number blocks that allow you to model any car number of your choice. The set includes a few data variations that appeared on these cars as well. In addition, it includes numerous patch options you can use to model these cars for SBD, BN, and CIC, as they appeared later in life.

Available now! We expect this set to be popular, so if we run out, we'll do a quick restock to ensure we can provide sets to those who want them (as we try to do for all decal sets).
