Back in my archive era ⏰

When I started She Thrifty Apparel back in 2020, I studied the women who shaped fashion.

Lately, I’ve been revisiting my why and it brought me right back here 💐

Introducing Style Archives 👠 a series where I revisit iconic looks and the women behind them who have influenced style over the last 20+ years.

The inspiration never left, I just forgot how much I enjoyed sharing it 💖

For today’s feature:

TLC • defining ‘90s style with baggy silhouettes, sporty sets, and unapologetic individuality during the rise of R&B girl groups.

Da Brat • one of the first female rappers to go platinum, known for her tomboy aesthetic and Atlanta’s ‘90s hip-hop influence.

LisaRaye • embodying early 2000s glam with her signature bodycon looks and effortless luxury energy.

Christina Aguilera • shaping early 2000s pop style with her bold “Dirrty” era and fearless reinvention.

Mýa • representing sleek, feminine Y2K style with coordinated sets and soft, polished visuals.

Gwen Stefani • blending punk, ska, and street style in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, making individuality the moment.

Duke girls really are THAT cute 💙

starting pop up season back on campus and y’all do not ever come to play 💐😭 it’s been 3 years of me coming back and every time just feels so special, getting to bring new pieces, see familiar faces, and meet the sweetest new ones. 💕

its really official please join me in celebrating the opening of House of Rebellion 🧡 A place where fashion never expires, individuality thrives, style knows no limits and a testimony of resilience. I’ve really cried so much 😭😮‍💨 BUT on this day with community they will be beautiful happy tears! I am overjoyed and deeply grateful to be here & I cannot wait to share the space with you 🥂

The Rebellion Begins 🧡✨

Allow me to reintroduce myself — I’m Alexandria Monet: founder of She Thrifty Apparel, circular fashion advocate, educator, vintage curator, stylist, and proud business owner. 👠

Some of you have been with me on this journey for a while. You’ve seen the pivots, the lessons, and the wins. And now, I’m stepping into a new chapter: sole owner of House of Rebellion in Downtown Raleigh.

On August 23rd at 12 PM, we’ll cut the ribbon and open the doors to a space filled with vintage treasures from the 60s–00s. A home where fashion has no expiration date, individuality is celebrated, and style refuses limits ✊🏽🧡

I am deeply grateful for the resilience that brought me here and for the community that continues to believe in what I create. This is just the beginning of the consumer revolution, and I’m honored to have you along for the journey.
