OP is a student-funded recreational program which seeks to provide outdoor and social experiences emphasizing adventure, environmental awareness, education, challenge, personal development, safety, a sense of community, and fun. The Outdoor Pursuits office offers a wide variety of services, equipment, and resources to assist users in exploring the outdoor recreational opportunities of the Four Cor

ners region. By using this page you will have the opportunity to meet other students who participate in OP and will also be updated with program news and events. All discussions and content shared through this group should be related to Fort Lewis Outdoor Pursuits. By using this page, you are agreeing to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. Welcome to our new River Operations Coordinator, Ben Iverson! Ben went to Fort Lewis and graduated in 2023 with a degree in Business Administration. During his time as a student, he was heavily involved in both Outdoor Pursuits, as well as FLOW as a guide and trip leader! After graduating, he managed river operations on the Salt River in Arizona, as well as many other local rivers such as the Upper Animas, Piedra, and San Miguel. During his free time, you can find him skiing, kayaking, and skydiving! Ben is very excited to join the team at FLC and contributing to the continued success of Outdoor Pursuits!

Our Seek Your Adventure Award applicants made their trip happen! Chloe and Piper completed a just over 30-mile ski traverse beginning by riding the into Needleton and hiking/skiing to Silverton! This trip was scheduled as an OP participant trip 2 years ago and it was cancelled due to weather. As participants on this trip, Chloe and Piper were disappointed that it didn’t run. But this year, they made it happen in style with support from and !

We just got back from our annual graduation river trip where we celebrate the past year of hard work with our staff! We had a wonderful time floating and celebrating our graduated seniors. Thank you to everyone who came and to all other staff who couldn’t make it. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to the program! Already looking forward to next year! 💚🎉🏞️

🎓🎉Congrats to our Spring 2025 graduates!! These amazing seniors have served as mentors, incredible trip leaders, compassionate and caring role models, and much more.
