With Who Are We Spending Our Time?
One of the wise moves that all Christians eventually make is our decision to be very particular about who we spend most of our time with because they are either saved by Christ or still living according to the world’s wickedness.
Becoming a Christian, in the beginning, can and should be a time of decision. We quickly realize that it’s time to slowly w**d out many people around us who are in complete conflict with our faith in Christ.
When we make a conscious effort to remain consistently in contact or be around people still led by the world, not Christ, we ask for continual and unnecessary trials and tests to occur.
If we desire to be like Christ, we must put Him first in our lives and not the people we used to associate with who have no desire, at this point, to help us grow in our relationship with God.
Until someone accepts Christ as their personal Saviour, the tendency for human nature is always to be led by the flesh and not the spirit.
In many cases, depending on who we were before we came to Christ and who we spent our time with, we could place ourselves in danger if we spend a lot of time closely linked with unsaved former associates.
With who are we spending our time? May we always listen to the Spirit of God to guide us in our choice of people we spend our valuable time with daily.
If our priority is the Lord, first and foremost, then those we choose to spend our time with should have the same priority in life.
Proverbs 1:15-16 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. (KJV)
