Come visit our booth at Local Depot in Dunlap, TN on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 12-4. I should start out by saying that my family is what makes my world go round. My husband, Zachary, and I have two precious boys. Abel and Emmett are my heart walking around in two little bodies. I grew up in a small, football-crazed, tight-knit town that embraces the true meaning of co

mmunity. My immediate family is one of the biggest blessings in my life. We still gather round the dinner table on Sunday afternoons and enjoy a good home-cooked meal. Traditions like these have helped mold me into the person I am. There is something I have always loved about spending time with the people that are closest to me. Hence, the name inspiration for this small business venture -- The Southern Porch. Some of my best childhood memories happened on a front porch. I learned life lessons, had conversations I will never forget, and collected fragments of God's beautiful creations first-hand. Working with my hands is something I love to do. Ever since my Grandad taught me how to use a sander, my imagination took over. Crafting, refinishing, painting, and making something out of nothing seems to run in my veins. I do whatever project makes me happy whether it is creating a wreath or painting an inspirational quote on an old piece of wood. When I see an aged, run-down dresser that has worn paint and mismatched handles, I see potential. I appreciate the uniqueness that a vintage piece brings to a room. When you put a little hard-work and a lotta' love in an item that you or someone cares about, it makes a difference. Recently, some exciting things have been happening in the valley I call home. A new business will be opening. Local Depot provides residents and visitors to Dunlap with a unique shopping experience. Browse vintage and antique items, plus numerous pieces of art, photography, artisanal items, local food and baked goods. DIY events and Make and Take items. The Southern Porch will be a vendor. We will fill our space with new items weekly. Above I said we... My mom and dad share a love of all things old and homemade just like I do. We decided to team up for this adventure. We will work together to keep our space genuine and inviting. The style we fall under is all things farmhouse.
