An update on the recent legislation and how it will impact our operations..
👨🏼⚖️ Latest Industry Update: Tennessee Seeks to Ban THCA
As many of you may know, Tennessee's h**p industry is navigating significant regulatory challenges, particularly concerning the status of THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid), a non-intoxicating compound in raw h**p that converts into psychoactive THC when heated. House Bill 1376/Senate Bill 1413 is currently progressing through the Tennessee Legislature, having been passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. This bill includes a ban on THCA and other derivatives, such as THCP, citing concerns over their psychoactive potential when heated. It would also ban most CBD based flower. Additionally, this bill proposes shifting regulatory authority over h**p products from the Department of Agriculture to the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, which would restrict remaining sales to v**e and liquor stores.
🍃 How This Will Affect Us:
This ban does not go into effect until January 1, 2026, but it does significantly impact our ability to operate as normal. If these rules do not change, we will be forced to close our doors and shut down. Until then, we aim to continue offering the products that you've come to know and love. We've brought back our signature cereal treats, infused honey, and our decadent chocolate dunked cookies. We are also working to bring back payment processing, but are facing significant challenges in finding one that will work with cannabis based businesses due to legalities on the federal level. If you have any suggestions for a payment processor, please let us know. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, but know that we aim to resolve this as soon as possible.
