We would like to offer our sincere apologies for any misinterpretation or confusion regarding the recent announcement about Ken Bates Guitar Bazaar LLC. Some community members believed the store was closing entirely, and we want to clarify the situation.

The change of ownership is being completed in good standing with the previous owner, Ken Bates. Ken is retiring from his role as store owner and has sold the inventory to the store luthier, Michael Desmarais, who will be opening a new store, Heritage Music & Luthiery, in Elgin, Oklahoma.

At the same time, Shane McClennen will remain in Duncan, Oklahoma, continuing his own music business in Suite 2 of the Chisholm Mall.

Both Michael and Shane are in good standing with one another and are working cooperatively to establish and grow both businesses.

🎶 Music lessons at Suite 2 in the Chisholm Mall will continue with no changes to schedule or pricing, and new lesson sign-ups are strongly encouraged.

Shane and Michael are also working together on renovations and restocking at both locations in preparation for grand openings planned within the next few months.

We’d like to share some important changes happening at Ken Bates Guitar Bazaar.

We are in the process of switching ownership and downsizing. We will remain operating in Suite 2, while Suite 1 will be closing as part of this transition.

Ownership will be changing and relocating to Elgin, OK

👉 Store sales are closed until further notice, however music lessons will continue as normal.

🎶 New lesson sign-ups are still welcome, and we’d love to have you join us!
