I’ve added a laser to the shop. I don’t have the rotary jig to laser my calls or pens yet so I’m pretty limited there until the jig comes in but I am making some fun stuff.

I called my first coyote with a turkey diaphragm. Beginners luck was strong that day. I had just picked up a 17 hmr from Murph’s in Duncan and wanted to try it out. I took her out to a spot that I deer hunted and sighted in. I didn’t have any camo or an e-call but I wanted to try calling coyotes. I had a few diaphragms in the truck so I threw a couple in my pocket and found a spot to sit. I sat up against a big cottonwood and started screaming on the call without a lot of confidence but a ton of hope. Not five minutes in a double comes in so close I had a hard time finding them in the scope. I only connected on one but that was enough to hook me. I bought one of the original foxpros that was built in a flashlight case and my education began. I’ve been calling predators ever since. Every predator that comes to the call is a rush but when they come to a call that I’ve made it’s just as good as that first pair. I use a foxpro banshee now but I start every stand with a series from a hand call. The learning never ends.
