Imagine this. You wake up and hear someone breaking into your neighbors house. You look through the window and see him standing behind the fridge looking for the hidden stash of money your neighbor keeps hidden. He sees you looking and shoots at you. What are you going to reach for to get him? Well how about a 50 BMG that will reach though the fridge and the brick wall that he will dive to for cover.

PS: this is a joke and I don't recommend the 50 BMG for home defense. Please do some research before picking a home defense firearm.
