We're so close to our goal.
Opening Movo has been a dream and goal of mine ever since I started my fitness career in the early 2000's. It took a long time to feel confident to get started and in 2018 I took the leap of faith with the couple thousand dollars I'd saved over a couple of years to buy some equipment and open a studio of my own.
That studio opened summer of 2018. It was a cute 400 square foot space where we would squeeze 16 people into a class. Mats literally touching at moments. I had so much fun in that space.
While my team and I stayed cozy in our little studio, I had started to built out a bigger space. Taking an even bigger leap of faith by moving into a larger space. September of 2019 that larger space was ready and we transitioned in our brand new studio. It was a dream come true to be in this new studio space. A vision come to fruition. Then 6 months later the pandemic hit and we had to close our doors and pivot to a virtual space. 11 and a half months we taught classes virtually. Then Feb of 2021 we started to offer a few in-studio classes again. It felt so good to be back in person, exhilarating actually. Reminding me that yes, this is what I love to do. Fast forward to another year later we are still here, but barely hanging on. We have an amazing community, but to be very honest, the sales are so inconsistent, and sometimes it feels hard to know how to move through this current space. We are struggling to keep up with the overhead of our studio.
It's hard to talk about money. It's hard to talk about it being hard. But I think if we can all be open about the reality of hardship, we can all chip in in some way to help support one another. Because together we can move mountains.
And that's why I am asking for you help? Whether it's $5 or $75, it all makes a difference to help us stay open.
Maybe you can drop in for a class. Or join us with a pass. We have special events, and a run club. We sell lululemon.
Even the simple act of liking, and sharing what we're up to makes such a difference for us.
I have so much more I want to do with this space, and am not ready to let it go.
Can you help us make it through?
