Christiansen Company was founded in 1886 by Hans Christiansen. Originally the company supported the Commercial Fishing industry on Lake Superior by providing fishing and other supplies to remote fishing villages around the lake. Christiansen’s based itself in Duluth, MN and was run from the vessel Winyah, since no road access was available along the shores of Lake Superior. As the area developed,

the company concentrated its efforts on the fish net business and expanded the business into other netting products. Now…

In addition, we have expanded our services and expertise to the natural resource managers across North America and the world.
