With our water still “firmed up”, I had a chance to take a trip out to Port Clinton Ohio to fish on Lake Erie for a week. What a beautiful and wonderful fishery. Put it on your bucket list.
We pretty much pulled Bandit Walleye Deeps. Bright flashy on bright days and the darker solid colors on overcast days. The water clarity was a challenge but the fish were in the tinged water. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Finished up our winter “move”. My daughter Emily Holter, her husband Erik, daughter Halle and son Ruxen spent the last week with us. I took the boys fishing with V.O. Charters and Capt Victoria Ortiz. She did not disappoint. Ruxen caught one of the biggest reds I’ve seen in the four years of fishing with her. He did great. Erik was a sleeper up front. I’d turn around and he’d have another one on. The guys were using the new TRIKA 10x with a TI 3100 spinning reel. According to my grandson they’re “Awesome!” I have to agree. If you’re ever in the South Padre Island, Texas area, look her up and give those reds a shot.

What do you do when you only have a couple hours to go fishing….. you go fishing. Absolutely beautiful night on Lake Superior. And the fish cooperated too! We let the Lindy Lil Guys wobble their way and walleyes liked it.

Had a chance to fish with my brother this weekend. Took a little bit of searching but we found them. Walleye Bandit Deep got us where we needed to be and we caught some nice fish.

Recent trip up to Lake of the Woods was a blast. We were jigging Lindy BMax jigs in 22-25’ of water and on the rock humps. The hooks are stiffer and seem to transmit subtle bites better. Loved them.

It has been a great week. Fished with some great people. Caught some great fish. Little Joe floating crawler harnesses have helped keep the baits up as the weeds start to emerge.

Still pulling crawlers with Lindy Lil Guys. The water seems a little dirtier recently and that wobble seems to shake the walleyes up.
