The Soundside Market is back, and spring on the Outer Banks officially begins here. 🌿

Over 70 local makers, artists, and small businesses will be gathering on the sound for an afternoon of shopping, sunshine, and community. These markets are where so many incredible local brands are discovered for the first time.

If you’ve never been, it’s one of the best ways to experience just how much talent exists right here on the OBX.

Save the date, tag a friend you want to go with, and come support local. 🔥

Many of these vendors can also be discovered year-round through ShopLocalOBX.com and LocalOBX.com.

There’s always more happening here than people realize.

Live music behind restaurants. Trivia nights that quietly fill up. Markets, classes, pop-ups, and gatherings that never make it onto the big tourism sites.

Most of it is scattered — across pages, flyers, and word of mouth.

That’s why I built a single calendar where everything lives in one place.

It’s updated constantly and open to everyone — locals, visitors, businesses, and event hosts. Check out our latest blog, link in comments👇

If you know something happening that isn’t listed, message me.

Some places figured it out.

They didn’t grow by replacing what made them special.
They grew by protecting it.

Greenville is one of those places.

It didn’t happen by accident — it happened because people made intentional choices about what to support, what to preserve, and what kind of place they wanted to be.

The Outer Banks is at that same moment right now.

This photo takes me back 💛

I started Muse, my first Outer Banks business, because I wanted to create something that supported and showcased local artisans — giving makers a place to be seen and celebrated.

That mission never went away. It just grew.

These days it’s expanded into supporting local businesses in broader ways too, and I shared a little about that journey (link’s in the comments if you feel like reading).

Mostly just feeling grateful for how it’s all unfolded — and for everyone who’s been part of it along the way.

What is Local OBX?

Outer Banks friends — I finally put into words what LocalOBX really is.

LocalOBX isn’t just a directory. It’s a local-by-local network built to help our small businesses, artists, makers, mobile vendors, and musicians get discovered — online and inside the places visitors actually stay.

This post explains the why behind the events calendar, Town Guides, and marketplace, and what we’re trying to build together as a local business community.

If you care about keeping OBX local, I’d love for you to give it a read and tell me what you think. 💛 Link in comments👇
