Some projects, in theory, are "easy."
But when you get into the nitty gritty, they're actually really difficult. Not just because it requires a lot of mathematics, but also because you run into obstacles you didn't foresee.
• The little (but tough) machine you have will not sew with thick thread.
• Removing zippers from previous projects is tedious, often takes more time than the actual project.
• Making room for large projects. I'm struggling without having the proper tables or having to get down on the floor.
• You upgrade your machine (because you needed to anyway). Success! We're making progress.
• Oops, your needle just broke. Why? Who knows!
This is the life of a seamstress, no matter how big the project. Something can LOOK easy, or simple, but it's just not.
If you sew, or are starting to sew, give yourself grace. Step away for a bit if you need to. Take a deep breath and then just go for it.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend! I'll be wrestling with this large canvas!
