Meet Chester.

He’s our natural brown Cormo ram and a prolific daddy to many of our beautiful black lambs this spring. Gentle as a peach and very amiable to his ram besties. His babies are big, bouncy and friendly as all get out! Gauge in particular this year has won our hearts.

Chester came to us from our friend and mentor Regina Frahm, who has imparted such beautiful genetics into the US Cormo population. Our micron range for Cormos is 19.25 aka next to skin baby soft. 🧶

We at Mitchell Wool are flock first. Each soul on our farm has a name and is part of our faRmily. We care far more about their quality of life than the yarn they produce. The yarn is the product to support the flock and team who works here. It’s GREAT yarn, but the joy comes from the animals.

We love living amongst the animals, every morning is like waking up in a Golden book of our childhoods. Sheep that come running to us, not from. Birds that fly to roost on your hand. Pigs who are not only safe to be around, but come toward us for a nose scritch. They’re happy, well fed and living their truest lives. And that makes us feel content that we’ve left the start of a mark on our land. Rather than leave no trace, we’re trying to leave it better. Building a community where everyone can thrive. We’re re-wilding our flocks & herd, to build back the soil to feed them for generations to come.

TWO GUYS TULIPS 💐 are fresh cut bouquets they grew in our garden. Cared for, arranged, & curated by our own farmers. It’s a great way for them to learn entrepreneurship and will feature fresh blooms all season long. 🌼

Hey yarnies!!! Look what we’ve restocked for Ewe!!!

Kristine & Cindy have sewn up a bunch of our collab of the Sherry’s Sweater Bags! worked her magic dying the cotton duck and we then put her talent into our project bags that are wildly popular.

We’ll have them with us until they run out, which they will, because they’re so awesome!
