At one point, Ben Griffin had quit golf, taken a corporate job, and stepped away from the game entirely.
Two years later, he was back on the PGA TOUR.
Here’s that story…
In 2021, he stepped away from professional golf entirely. Burned out, in debt, and done with mini-tour life, he took a job as a mortgage loan officer and walked away from the game.
Golf wasn’t part of the plan anymore.
Then came a conversation that would change his life forever.
An introduction to Doug Sieg, CEO of Lord Abbett, turned into something real. Sieg believed in Griffin’s game and offered to financially back his return, removing the biggest barrier most players face at that level.
From there, it wasn’t immediate.
Griffin went to the Korn Ferry Tour and rebuilt everything. His competitive rhythm, decision-making, even the ability to have his A game across four rounds.
The results soon followed:
– playoff loss at the NV5 Invitational
– contention at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship
– enough consistency to earn his PGA TOUR card
By 2023, he was in the field at THE PLAYERS, less than two years after leaving the game.
