So, I'll start by posting some cool DIY'S like this one.
I bought this cool and very large old vintage suitcase from an auction for a $1. Of course, I had hoped that it would be in super great condition inside but sometimes they simply are not. It's just the nature of vintage suitcases. But for a buck I took the chance to see what it looked like on the inside. The inside was not such that I would want to put things inside or carry things around in it and after a couple of days of thinking about what I would do with it I had kind of resigned myself to maybe tossing it in the refuse bin.
But as I sat, staring at this cool old suitcase, contemplating putting it in the dumpster, I got the idea that maybe I didn't need to open it or use it for necessarily anything at all. After all, it had a great shape and color. Maybe I could just park it somewhere for the "look" of it, ya know? Then the lightbulb went on ...why couldn't I use it for a "sign" if you will. Not opening it, but using the big broad side of that thing as a lovely albeit little billboard space? A quote, a painting, etc.
I also had several pages of giant sticker letters that someone else had passed along to me after they had used what they needed from them and let's be honest, sometimes it's hard to imagine ever going back to use the rest of them, am I right? But the way my mind works, it's really hard for me to throw something like that away too, and those that know me well, pass me things like that hoping they will get used and usually, eventually, they do.
So cheap suitcase plus used stickers later and I had a cool "sign" to use at the outdoor markets for the sweet price of just one $1. And a fab DIY is born. ✨💙✨
