I hate that moment when you have a sudden spike in sales for a certain artist's cards, and have a bad feeling.

Bernie Wrightson has passed away after a battle with brain cancer.

I have been a fan of his since the 1970s. His detail of line and absolute abilty to convey both horror and emotion in the same imagery hooked me for life.

I managed to meet him twice, once in Orlando at Oasis, and once in New Jersey at Chiller. Both were memorable encounters.

Anyone who as a fan of fantastical art or comic art who does not know of him should look at his work. Anyone who is a fan of such styles, whether they know him or not, suffered a loss this past weekend.

Le sigh. Sixteen boxes of Achilleos Series 1 cards, and no autograph unless there is one in a random packs with no indicator. Not likely in cards from FPG, since most have some kind of external indicator if you know what to look for, but it does happen in a couple of their series'.
