πΏ Important Community Agriculture Update πΏ
Weβve had several customers ask us about the recent Solano County Agricultural Commissioner alert regarding the invasive glassy-winged sharpshooter found on certain shipped plant material. We appreciate the county sharing this information quickly so our community can help prevent the spread of this serious agricultural pest.
We want to reassure our customers that not all citrus and grape plants are affected or unsafe. Our citrus and grapevines come from different vendors than the locations noted in the county alert, and all of our plant material is inspected prior to arriving at our nursery.
As a licensed grower nursery β not simply an end user β our nursery is also regularly inspected by the county agricultural department. Plant health, agricultural safety, and supporting local agriculture are things we take very seriously.
If you purchased citrus or grapevines from the locations identified by the county, please follow all instructions provided and contact the Agriculture Department immediately. Many local farms, vineyards, backyard growers, and surrounding agricultural communities depend on preventing the spread of pests like this.
Thank you for helping protect local agriculture and for continuing to support local nurseries and growers ππ±
