State FFA convention recap is below! We had a great week and are so proud of all of our members!

🎤 On Monday, Courtney Roberts competed in the Creed speaking LDE and represented the southeast area at the state level.

🥉On Tuesday, Camden Bishop competed in the Junior Prepared Public Speaking LDE and placed third in the state!

🏅 Wednesday, 3 of our members received their State FFA Degree, which symbolizes years of commitment and dedication to ag. education, including their SAE and FFA. Those members are Kaylee Bielmyer, Hadley Edwards, and Cora Woolfolk.

🏅Alumni President Chris Bielmyer and FFA Advisor Laurel Bishop received their Honorary State FFA Degrees!

📈 The Farm Business Management team placed 2nd overall and will represent Virginia at the Big E this fall! Team members were Marissa Toombs, Laythan Vick (10th individual), Hadley Edwards (8th individual), and Rebecca Shell (3rd individual).

🐎The Hippology Team placed 2nd overall and will represent Virginia at Quarter Horse Congress this fall! Team members were Kaci Schuh, Hannah Hendrick, Emily Jordan, and Cora Woolfolk.

🐈 The Vet Science Team placed 2nd overall and will represent Virginia at the Big E this fall! Team members were Hadley Edwards, Rebecca Shell (6th individual), Marissa Toombs, and Cora Woolfolk (2nd individual).

🧰 The Ag Mechanics team competed and did well for their first State level competition. Team members were Allen Spain, Laythan Vick, Ayden Heilman, and Collin Adkins.

💐 The Floriculture team tried something brand new this year and did great! They are excited to keep learning and growing. Team members were Kaylee Bielmyer, Kinslee Bielmyer, and Courtney Roberts.

Tomorrow we have our next Plant Sale of the season! We still have plenty of plants left, so be sure to come by and see us! We will be at the DHS Greenhouse from 8:00-12:00 tomorrow morning. Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

Over the last two days, our Hippology and Horse Judging Team competed at Equismartz held at the Meadow Event Park! This team did great and had a strong, solid showing! Team members include Hannah Hendrick, Emily Jordan, Kaci Schuh, and Cora Woolfolk.

We also had several members of Dinwiddie 4-H that competed and placed as well! Congratulations to our friends who are members of the various 4-H Clubs that were represented! 🍀

Hippology is a competition that showcases basic horse knowledge, including identification of feeds, tack, anatomy, breeds, and more. There is also a written test and judging classes. Placings are as follows:

Horse Judging was held today. In that competition, students must judge (place) 8 different classes and then give oral reasons on 3 classes where they justify their placings. Results are as follows:

It’s officially the day of our first Plant Sale of the season! We will be down at the DHS Greenhouse until Noon today and again next Saturday from 8 AM until Noon! Can’t wait to see you all!

It’s that time of year! In just a little over three weeks, we will be having our annual plant sale! Come see us on April 11th and 18th from 8 am to 12 pm at the DHS Greenhouse. We have a great selection of annuals that our students have been working hard on all semester! We cannot wait to see y'all there!

Please support our Dinwiddie FFA Alumni Chapter! All proceeds will go to support the Dinwiddie FFA Alumni Scholarship for two of our senior FFA Members!

The Dinwiddie FFA Alumni and Supporters Chapter is having a Chicken Dinner on March 27, 2026. Proceeds from the sale support scholarships for two graduating Dinwiddie High School FFA members. The price of each dinner is $15.00 and will contain the following:

Chicken Leg Quarter
Buttered Potatoes
Green Beans
Roll
Individual Dessert

Dinwiddie FFA had a GREAT day today at the Southeast Area Rally! For many of our kids, this was their first time competing in an FFA event. Thanks to our friends at Appomattox High School for hosting! Full results are posted below. Congratulations to all of our members who competed!!

To kick off FFA Week, we held our annual Tractor Day! This year we had one member, Jake Everett, drive a tractor to school! Not only is this a great way to kick off FFA Week, but also serves as an opportunity to educate our school on roadway safety around agricultural equipment. To assist with that, we have Major William Knott from the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office speaking to our Ag Classes and Driver’s Ed classes about roadway safety! 💚💛
