Today and tomorrow, forecasts are a bullseye for fall fishing. Get it! Snow is coming. Pipe to Barrett’s is open. Poindexter slough as well. It’s Halloween season but we haven’t seen any zombie trout 🧟‍♂️🎣😂. Just pumpkins 🎃

We’re sorry but we had to suspend our regular shuttle service on the Beaverhead. We do occasionally have guides out and will help out if we already have drivers working. We hope everyone understands that these are challenging times and we have had to make cut backs accordingly. We will be resuming next spring.

We are doing our best to report up to date information about the seasonal closures in the area. Correct information has not been easy to obtain. Based on word of mouth from the FWP, Poindexter Slough will remain open along with Pipe Organ to Barrett’s.

The Beaverhead River is open!!! We would like to take this time to counter some bad information un-informed anglers are spreading. The Beaverhead river will be open as usual from Pipe Organ Bridge to Barretts. This year this closure occurs a month earlier on Sept. 30th in an effort to better protect spawning brown trout. The great news is we will have a minimum stream flow of 100 (cubic feet second) cfs. This is quadruple the flow of the last few winters. This means great winter and spring opportunities and in many stretches, floatable water. The best news is this typically means better winter survivability for the river’s juvenile fish and fry. Also the fish counts on the upper Beaverhead are strong and within normal range. Our anglers and guides have experienced fantastic fishing on most all area waters and have encountered very few of these headline grabbing “zombie trout”. We do support conservation efforts and always will be responsible anglers. The Big Hole will close from Dickey Bridge down but we look forward to fishing it again next spring when it re opens on April 1. Again we support conservation efforts on the Big Hole but also would like to mention the rain and resulting stream flow has been amazing this late summer and fall. Anglers and guides alike have reported many juvenile fish this fall which should help this amazing river. Local Montanans please to visit Dillon and our open waters this fall and winter. We will be open most days all “off season” and happy to support your fishing and tying needs.
