We arrived in Guadalajara on Friday afternoon and went straight to work, after getting a late lunch of course, aguachiles because itโs virgilia. We had a great day of shopping on Saturday and a fabulous dinner with family. Sunday morning we were getting ready to head out to the markets when we started seeing reports of fires all around town. We knew right away that plans had to be canceled and staying home was the new plan of the day. We are safe, we are indoors again today on Monday and we are well cared for with family. Hopefully this chaos comes to a quick end and we can resume our plans. Do I feel safe doing so? I feel just as safe as I do any other day. Life owes you no safety or security nor does it guarantees you anything. You take precautions make smart choices but at the end of the day you ๏ฟผmust live. We love Mexico, our family is here our history is here. We love the people, the sun, the food, the art, the culture, the pulse of life happening all around you. It is very sad to see what happened yesterday and seeing it played out right in front of you. We heard the sirens smelled the fires and had to shelter in place. I hope and pray that a change can happen in Mexico, a change that brings safety to its people and ends the corruption that has ran so rampant that puts us in the situation we are in. But love requires you to love with full acceptance, you love the virtues and accept the flaws and that is the heart I have for Mexico ๐๐คโค๏ธ
Thank you for reading this and supporting our shop our culture and people that we hope to represent. We are proud and we love what we do!!
